The ranches in Canada are generally set in the prairie lands of British Columbia and Alberta. Often family run, they are a wonderful way to get out into Canada’s open territories and unspoilt farmlands.
Activities
Riding, fishing and hiking are the main activities on the ranches. Riding, however, is usually the primary focus. All abilities can enjoy Canada’s ranches, whether you wish to have an hour’s lesson or spend the day in the saddle, horses are carefully matched to their riders. The working ranches are home to BC’s cowboys but there is little getting your hands dirty, relaxing in the Spa is definitely encouraged. Off site activities may include biking, white-water rafting and gold panning.
Open Spaces
The real draw is the vast acreage of beautiful country. The ranches tend to be remote, away from touristy hubs and they are a great base for families. The scenery also provides an excellent contrast to the BC coast and ranch life provides an insight into the real Canada.
