Some of the wonderful places to stay that we frequently recommended.
Cradled in the foothills of the majestic Andes within a private 55-acre vineyard, Cavas Wine Lodge is an elegant boutique property that benefits from the tranquillity of this idyllic wine-growing region. With an interior that delicately balances lavish chandeliers and plush fabrics with cosy fireplaces and carved wood furnishings, the lodge features a frescoed restaurant that serves seasonal locally-inspired dishes made from organically grown and ecologically sound ingredients.
Consisting of just three superbly constructed eco villas that are the first of their kind in the Galapagos, Montemar is the sustainable passion project of two native Galapaguenos and environmentalists. Composed of natural local materials like bamboo, cedar and lava rocks, the villas blend seamlessly with the surrounding 43 acres of land, through which Galapagos tortoises and wild horses roam freely. The property has its own outdoor bamboo yoga and meditation studio, and the three villas range in size and are each uniquely decorated.
The Uakari Lodge is a community-run floating lodge in the Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve, the largest area of the flooded Amazonian forest. The main objective of the lodge is to help the local communities and preserve natural resources.

It wasn’t part of the script, career plans were quite different but after four global trips visiting such exciting destinations, travel became a passion that eventually led to me entering the industry. The more I have travelled the greater the desire has been to see and do more.
I love to squeeze as much out of my day as possible. An outdoors fanatic, I love to delve into harsh environments having summited numerous mountains and trail running into the unknown whenever I get the chance – whether at home or overseas. Funnily enough, it didn’t start like that. It took a few years for the burning fire of adventure to truly take light with my eyes opened by the adventures travel could afford.
I was inspired to travel south from an early age. My form teacher when I was nine made us listen to tapes from Shackleton’s expeditions, I didn’t know it at the time, but it obviously left a deep impression on my psyche.
