The Uakari Lodge is a community-run floating lodge in the Mamiraua Sustainable Development Reserve, the largest area of the flooded Amazonian forest.
The main objective of the lodge is to help the local communities and preserve natural resources.
The lodge has 10 simple guestrooms spread across the floating structures which rise by up to 12 metres during the wet season. Each of the thatched rooms has its own terrace with views of the surrounding forest and all are ensuite with solar-powered showers.

There are great wildlife viewing opportunities within the reserve which is home to sloth, jaguar, pink river dolphin, prolific birdlife and monkeys, including the endemic White Uakari monkey. As well as wildlife viewing, visits can be made to local communities and it is also possible to spend time with researchers working in this part of the Amazon.
During the wet season from April to August the forests flood and exploration of the many trails around the reserve switches from walking to canoe.
Mamiraua has one of the highest densities of Jaguar in the world and the best time to view them here is from June to October. Jaguars in the reserve have adapted to the annual flooding of the forests and spend three months hunting and sleeping from the treetops. This unique behaviour has only ever been recorded here and means these beautiful cats can be tracked and viewed from the water.
Located on the Amazon river and reached by a one-and-a-half-hour boat ride from the town of Tefe, which is a one hour flight from Manaus.

Cristalino Lodge is nestled beside the banks of the Cristalino River in a private forest reserve in the southern Amazon Rainforest. There are 18 rooms, ranging from standard to spacious bungalows set within the forest. All the accommodation has ceiling fans and screened windows allowing the sounds of the jungle into the room as well as hammocks outside. The bungalows have in addition an outside shower set in a private garden. As well as an extensive network of walking trails through the rainforest and canoeing options, Cristalino Lodge boasts a 50-metre canopy tower with three different platforms for watching wildlife below and above the canopy, and there is a screened tree house for chance sightings of tapirs and peccaries that arrive to feed on the salt clay.
