Paperbark Camp offers guest accommodation in African inspired safari tents – think designer treehouse. The 12 guest tents are built off the ground on timber platforms amidst paperbark and eucalyptus trees.
Constructed using timber and corrugated iron, each tent has an en suite with indoor/outdoor shower and a wraparound decking area. Deluxe tents have a free-standing bath. Family operated, the owners strive to offer an eco-friendly bush experience on the doorstep of some beautiful beaches and national parks.
Paperbark Camp is a really lovely option to either begin or end a holiday in Australia. Close to Sydney, yet a world away and perfect to explore at leisure with a hire car. We also love the sustainable approach of Paperbark with solar panels providing light for the tents and hot water heated on demand by natural gas.
The area surrounding Paperbark Camp is perfectly suited to a range of outdoor activities. Head out canoeing on the creek, go bushwalking in one of the surrounding National Parks, explore the bay by sea kayak or take a whale-watching cruise (May/June and Oct/Nov). The white sandy beaches of Jervis Bay are close by and additional water-based activities include paddle boarding, snorkelling and surfing. Complimentary bikes are also available for guests at the camp and there is plenty of wildlife in the area with particularly excellent birdwatching opportunities. The ‘Paperbark challenge’ is a lovely day out – canoe to Huskisson and back, stopping for a swim on the bank of Currambene Creek.
Back at the hotel, there are in-room treatments available on request.
Located in Jervis Bay, just two and a half hours south of Sydney. Close to the beaches of Jervis Bay and around four kilometres from the small town of Huskisson which is easily reached in around 15 minutes by bike.
