El Questro Homestead is dramatically perched above the Chamberlain River, amidst a million-acre wilderness park in the Kimberley’s. Accommodation is in nine suites which occupy cliffside settings with a wonderful garden and river views and private decks.

Some have freestanding outdoor baths. The kidney-shaped pool is also positioned to take full advantage of the river views.

The sense of space and scale of the area combined with the dramatic location and beautiful scenery make this an incredibly special place to stay.

Facilities

Few facilities are needed with such magical views to enjoy but the Homestead does have a pretty kidney-shaped swimming pool overlooking the river.

Dining at El Questro is done under the stars in a selection of dining locations and is a highlight of any stay here. Dining can be communal or private in one of three locations and the food is Australian, showcasing the best local and seasonal produce. All meals and drinks are included in a stay.

Activities

El Questro is located in a real wilderness and as such, all of the activities on offer are geared to making the most of the surroundings. Guests at the Homestead have a range of complimentary excursions included in their stay. Each experience can be tailored and could include a private cruise on the Chamberlain River, a dip in the nearby Zebedee thermal springs, bird watching tours and scenic helicopter flights.

Guided or unguided hiking, horse riding, 4WD tours and boat tours are all great ways to explore. The sheer scale of the Kimberley lends itself perfectly to aerial adventures so an excursion by helicopter or small plane really is an awesome way to view the region. The fishing is great as is the birdlife plus other wildlife and local flora. Days can be spent swimming in waterholes and thermal springs, standing under cascading waterfalls before spending the evening star gazing and sharing stories around the campfire.
