Where to stay in Australia

Located amidst the sand dunes of Australia’s vast central desert, Longitude 131° offers an eco-sensitive, luxurious and romantic place to stay, with privileged views of the sun rising and setting over Uluru (Ayers Rock).
Each of the 15 individual tented rooms is elevated and beautifully decorated using organic fabrics and aboriginal art. All make the most of the spectacular views with floor to ceiling windows as well as a private terrace with an outdoor daybed and open fire.
The Dune House is home to communal areas including the pool, spa and restaurant where Uluru still dominates the vista.
There really isn’t a better way to experience Uluru. The rock changes colour throughout the day – upon waking at sunrise, experience a magical glow, getting brighter during the day and back to a shimmering red colour as the day fades. Nowhere else can you witness this magic from the comfort of your bed. The night skies are just awesome, and each room at Longitude 131 now has a luxury ‘swag’ style bed on the terrace enabling guests to sleep out under the stars if they wish.
Small group tours are included in the cost of a stay at Longitude 131 with a choice of four daily options. Additional activities such as guided hikes, helicopter flights, camel rides or excursions by motorbike or bike are available on request. Private dining under the desert night skies can also be arranged for the ultimate romantic meal.
Located in the middle of the Red Centre just 12 miles from the iconic shape of Uluru and a short 10-minute drive from Ayers Rock airport. The next closest airport is at Alice Springs which is around four and a half hours drive or a 45-minute flight to the northeast.
