Spirit Bear Lodge is located in the Klemtu region in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest surrounded by the rugged and stunning British Columbia landscape. With an abundance of wildlife including bears, wolves, whales and dolphins, time here is spent exploring this wild land and the wildlife that lies within with eco-tours that range from 3 to 7 nights.
At the lodge, comfortable accommodation with large ocean view windows ensure you can keep an eye on the activity at all times! The exterior of Spirit Bear Lodge has been designed to reflect the traditional long houses that have been built for thousands of years by the West Coast First Nations, whilst inside local Tsimshian Art and large cedar dining tables are the traditional furnishings.
Why we like it
Tucked away in the Great Bear Rainforest, Spirit Bear Lodge offers wildlife enthusiasts a rare insight into the delicate habitat of the Kitasoo territory home to the rare Spirit Bears. With unparalleled access to view not only the Spirit Bears but also the impressive grizzly bears of this region, this traditional territory coexists with the Kitasoo Xai’xais First Nations People, offering one of the most unique experiences in the world that is visited by a precious few. With true ties to the First Nations people who have evolved this region it not only supports the local community that resides here but also is intricately involved with the conservation initiatives in place to ensure this spectacular habitat is preserved for the future.
