John Stevens Guided Safari

Join John Stevens for a privately guided safari through Mana Pools National Park. Born and raised in Zimbabwe's eastern highlands, John has spent his entire life exploring some of the wildest parts of his homeland.

Now one of the region's foremost guides, he is renowned for his warmth, passion and wealth of knowledge. Although happy to incorporate vehicles, canoes and boats into his safaris, John is best known for his love of walking. Completely at home on foot in the bush, he relishes the chance to take outsiders into his world.

On a privately guided safari with John, the schedule and itinerary are completely flexible. Mobile camps are ideal for exploring some of the wilder areas, but can easily be combined with time spent at more comfortable, permanent tented camps.

Zambezi Elephant Fund

John’s passion for wildlife led to him help found the Zambezi Elephant Fund, a project set up to help ensure the survival of the region’s elephants. Formed to counter the threat from poaching, the fund works closely with the government and other NGOs to implement effective ant-poaching measures. Any safari with John includes a donation to help support the fund.

Why We Like It

Although the animals grab all the attention, the real stars of a safari are the guides. John Stevens is simply one of the best, most experienced guides out there. A week on safari with him will offer an insight into the Mana Pools ecosystem that few else can match.
