The Ant Collection

Two superb bush homes, Ant's Nest and Ant's Hill combine to form The Ant Collection, situated on a private game farm in the malaria free Waterberg Mountains, just 3 hours drive from Johannesburg.

Owned and run by Ant and Tessa Barber, a stay at either camp ensures exemplary service, home-from-home living and easy going tailored safari. Ant is an accomplished horseman and a stay on the farm inevitably includes time on horseback.

Ant's Nest is the original homestead with wide verandas overlooking the waterhole where the wildlife come to drink, comfortable accommodation and a relaxed atmosphere. A variety of accommodation combinations ensure that all requirements are met. Ant's Hill is perched on a nearby cliff with far reaching views over a gorge and rooms are vary from a family cottage to a private honeymoon room complete with plunge pool.

Why we like it

Because the Waterberg is malaria free, easy to access with flexible activities, The Ant collection is a firm favourite amongst families travelling with children. With horses and dogs around the homestead and no dangerous game in the vicinity, Ant’s is a very popular destination where children can freely explore the African bush.
