Adventure, discovery and my curiosity for people and the natural world is what drives my love of travelling.  I am grateful for my parents’ desire to explore, and from an early age my eyes were open to diverse landscapes, cultures, and underwater worlds.

For the last 16 years, I have worked for a leading luxury tour operator designing incredible journeys for discerning clients and travelled to some magical places. I am excited to have joined Steppes Travel, and to be working for a company with such strong ethical and sustainable values.

I’m often asked what some of my most treasured memories are and it’s always hard to choose just a few, but often my love of nature comes to mind – underwater or on land. Whether it’s blowing bubbles with sea lions in the Galapagos to hiking some of Torres del Paine’s most striking and dramatic peaks. Flying over the myriad of waterways of the Okavango delta, watching herds of grazing zebra and elephants below to trekking the forests of Guatemala and discovering hidden Mayan ruins.

In recent years I have often been discovering the British coastline with my family and now the world is opening again, I have the joy of introducing my young children to travel. Most recently they have started to discover the underwater wonders, and have learnt to snorkel in the Red Sea, and the joy of snowboarding in the Alps.

Mobile Safari in the Okavango Delta

Take a luxury mobile safari through the heart of the delta. Stay at beautiful tented camps and benefit from expert guiding as you explore on foot, by boat and by 4×4.

Emerald Lakes, Tongariro National Park, New Zealand

Hiking and snowboarding in Tongariro National Park in New Zealand

One of my favourite places on earth the volcanoes and mountains of the Tongariro National Park are just breathtaking.  Flying down the active volcano of Mount Ruapehu on my snowboard with a local Maori guide, and trekking across the alpine terrain surrounded by volcanic craters in and snowy peaks, these memories will stay with me forever.

Perito Moreno National Park, Road to Pampas, Pampas, Argentina

Riding bareback with gauchos on Argentinian pampas

I held on tightly and at times closed my eyes as my horse galloped across the pampas.  I trusted the gaucho and surrendered to the feeling of being out of control and it was totally worth it! Exhilarating and such fun, and I was well rewarded with a glass of Argentina’s finest Malbec and the most delicious fillet of beef cooked asado style.

Galapagos marine iguanas on a beach, Tortuga Bay, on Santa Cruz Island.

Snorkelling with sea lions and marine iguanas in the Galapagos

Blowing bubbles back and forth with Sea Lions whilst they gracefully showed me their underwater acrobatics, whilst Penguins darted past me with great speed. I swam a little further out to sea and came across the unusual sight of a Marine Iguana swimming with a unique upright technique, and a green turtle gracefully gliding past me.  Incredible – such unusual and amazing marine life encounters in just one snorkelling adventure

Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs, Alexandria, Egypt

Explore Ancient Egyptian Ruins

Visit the Catacombs of Kom el-Shouqafa and underwater ruins of Montazah and Maamoura.
