Woman picking Tea Leaves, Munnar, Kerala, India

Glenburn Tea Estate

The Glenburn Tea Estate is situated above Darjeeling, an hour's drive from the town. It is very much a working estate stretching over 1,600 acres with rivers and forests.

The atmosphere is one of a private house party with dinner taken with the hosts, the Prakash family.

There are just four suites decorated in planter style.

Activities

  • Visit a tea factory and try your hand at tea plucking. Learn how the leaf is brought from the field to the cup
  • Barbeques and bonfires whilst stargazing
  • Hike to the river and spend a night in the fishing lodge
  • Take the toy train to Ghoom
