Begin your journey in Buenos Aires based in the leafy neighbourhood of Palermo. Take a guided tour around the city as well as having time to explore the fantastic restaurants and cafes which are a stone’s throw from your boutique hotel. Enjoy an intimate evening of fine dining at the Faena Hotel whilst being entertained by the Tango Rojo show.

Next stop will be the Lake District where the self-drive adventure begins. This drive from Bariloche to Villa La Angostura winds around lakes, past forests and dramatic mountain scenery. Enjoy a few days of walking or fishing before joining the road again to begin the most scenic part of the drive: The route of the Seven Lakes. Take time to stop along the way and enjoy the idyllic views before reaching the Rio Hermoso Lodge close to San Martin de los Andes for a relaxing few days to soak up the surroundings. Return to Bariloche for time by Lake Nahuel Huapi for activities such as walking, visiting the islands or kayaking.

Finally, slow the pace by winding up in scenic Mendoza; heart of the wine region. Stay at Casa de Uco which is the newest addition to the boutique wineries set in the Uco Valley and a great base for visiting some of the local wineries, all under a blue sky and with the dramatic back-drop of the snow-capped Andes.

Day 1

Fly London to Buenos Aires


Known as 'The Paris of Latin America', Buenos Aires is quite simply one of the world's greatest cosmopolitan cities. World class museums and leading restaurants jostle for space with boutique shops and antique markets, and the colonial architecture and cobbled streets of San Telmo contrast with the modern lines and waterfront designs of up and coming Puerto Madero. It is a city with a colourful and fascinating history, which has given rise to a variety of neighbourhoods from the uber trendy Palermo Soho to the bohemian charm of La Boca, the birth place of tango.

Day 3

Half Day City Tour
A fascinating 4-hour tour of the elegant turn-of-the-century districts that earned Buenos Aires the sobriquet 'the Paris of South America'. Begin the tour on the charming cobbled alleyways of San Telmo with its colonial architecture, before moving on to the Plaza de Mayo that is dominated by the the government house Casa Rosada, the Nación Bank, the cathedral and the original parliament houses. Continue up the leafy Avenida de Mayo towards the imposing grandeur of the Palace of Congress, before ending your tour at the historically fascinating Recoleta Cemetery. Discover the facts, stories and anecdotes that make up the colourful tapestry that is Buenos Aires.


Evening Rojo Tango show
This evening enjoy a night’s entertainment at the cabaret of the Rojo Tango, held at the Hotel Faena. Considered one of the best tango shows in the city, the show is both modern and sensuous, with intricate dance steps accompanied by the soulful tunes of tango music.

Day at Leisure with Optional Sightseeing
Free day to explore Buenos Aires. Here are some of the best ways to spend your time in this vibrant city:- Learn to tango in one of the city's famous milongas (dance halls)- Linger over a martini in the opulent surroundings of the Alvear Palaces lobby bar;- Watch a game of polo involving some of the world's leading players;- Check out the trendy bar and restaurant scene in hip Palermo Viejo;- Explore the riverside suburb of Tigre and cruise the waterways of the Delta;- Experience gaucho culture and traditional rural life on a Pampas estancia;- Make a day trip by ferry across the Plata River to explore the charming UNESCO town of Colonia in Uruguay.

Day 5

Fly Buenos Aires to Bariloche


Bariloche is situated on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi at the base of Cerro Otto, surrounded by the snow-capped Andes. Founded in 1903, built in an 'Alpine Style', Bariloche is famous for its chocolate industry, fantastic skiing and stunning scenery. This is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area, with a vast choice of adventure activities available from fishing and trekking to horse riding and white water rafting. The area is heavily wooded and the choice of different walks and local adventures is endless.


Car Hire


Villa La Angostura is a pretty town with a village feel and has long been popular as a holiday spot due to its stunning location right on Lake Nahuel Huapi. There are a wide variety of hotels and restaurants available and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. Villa La Angostura's great attraction is the nearby Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes. The short walk from La Villa to Laguna Verde is also recommended for views of the emerald green lagoon is surrounded by mixed coihue cypress and arrayan forests.

Day at leisure, a day here is to potter and explore the pretty village and lake side area. Visit the charming town of Villa La Angostura itself, or walk the trails around Lake Nahuel Huapi, hire a dinghy or larger sailing boat, or just relax at your hotel and admire the stunning views.

With car hire, drive up the 7 Lakes Route, with stunning views of the snow capped Andes, have lunch in San Martin de los Andes and return by a different route with stunning vistas at every turn.

Fly Bariloche to Mendoza


Founded in 1561, Mendoza is situated at the foot of the Andes, on the plains of the river Mendoza. This area is renowned for its intense wine cultivation, a stopping off point for travellers between Buenos Aires and Santiago in Chile and the starting point to climb Aconcagua, the highest point in the Andes. The city makes a good base for exploring the Andes to the west and has excellent restaurants, relaxing cafes, interesting museums, countless shopping opportunities and some of the finest plazas in the county.

Full Day Wineries Tour
Today embark on a full day wineries tour of the Uco Valley or Lujan or Maipu Valley. Visit Salentein or Antucura or other vineyards, with wine tasting with your private guide.

Choice of Activities and Excursions
Time to yourself to explore the local area and the surrounding vineyards. You may like to visit wine growing areas such as the Lujan and Maipu Valleys for tasting of the region’s top wines or a half day excursion to blend your own wine or day trips into the Andes mountains to view Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America.

The tree-lined streets and squares of Mendoza are great to explore. So too its churches, museums, cultural centres and parks such as General San Martin and historical places like Cerro de la Gloria.
