Facilities

There are six heritage rooms in the four-storied palace itself. Four standard suites and one Royal Suite and The Queens Room to choose from. Designed in traditional style the atmosphere is one of timeless regality and authenticity.  Alternatively, for families or anybody with mobility problems opt for the newer two bedroomed Chulli Bagh Villas set in the garden of almond trees.

Meals at the palace are served in the Royal dining room, with just six or so tables. The views over the valley, especially at sunset are enchanting.  Food is described as homely and filling and there is no doubt about being well fed.

It is worth knowing that due to the nature of this historical property there are steps to negotiate throughout the palace, and the WIFI is non-existent.

Festivals of Ladakh

• Organised in the month of February, just a week before Matho Nagrang, Stok Guru Tsechu festival is a two-day celebration where the months of Spituk and Stok monasteries take part in the festivities, performing mask dances.
• Celebrated at Matho monastery on the 15th day of the first month of the Tibetan calendar (March), the Matho Nagrang festival is a two day event. During the festival, the monks of the monastery wear colourful brocade and silk robes and perform mask dances are performed by the monastery.
• During the three day Hemis Festival in July, the 4-storeyed thangka of Guru Padma Sambhava is slung in the courtyard along with other precious thangkas are out on display.
