The Four Seasons Chiang Mai is a beautiful hotel just outside the main town in the lush Mae Rim Valley. The hotel has 20 acres of landscaped gardens which feature small lakes, terraced rice paddies, and lily ponds.
There are 98 lavishly-appointed suites which reflect a traditional Thai style called Lanna – a unique blend of Indian and Chinese influences. The resort has a famous Thai restaurant and there is a wide range of spa facilities on site.
We’ve always been huge fans of the Four Seasons Chiang Mai. The landscape of rice paddies, the traditional architecture and excellent service have kept it high on our list of favourite hotels for many years.
If you can tear yourself away from the peaceful pool or your suite there is masses to do and see from here. Visit Chiang Mai on one of the regular shuttles into town, learn from the best at the Rim Tai Kitchen Cooking Academy – home to some of the best Lanna style cooking in the country or explore via one of the resorts nature trails.
Hotel staff will willingly organise activities such as visits to elephant camps, temples, hill tribes, and waterfalls. Trekking, bamboo rafting, and mountain biking are also available.
Just half an hour from Chiang Mai centre near the interesting Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens or 45 minutes from the airport.
We know a thing or two about bespoke holidays – we’ve been creating them since 1989. Take a trip through the Thailand Holidays that we love today.

Amy Waters is warm and friendly and went out of her way to try and resolve issues and meet any requests. Always helpful, noticing small details, lending a hand and quick to learn what appealed to us, drawing our attention to things that may be of interest.

Paul's knowledge and expertise was invaluable when planning this trip. I told him where we wanted to go and the sort of hotels and things we wanted to do and everything was spot on - more than we ever expected! We will definitely be using Steppes Travel for future trips.
Thailand and Vietnam
Amy really understood the type of holiday we were looking for with a real mixture of accommodation and activities ranging from relaxing to exciting. When I asked for a private pool on the beach that's exactly what she delivered. Amy embraced every request, making sure they blended, giving us something new and exciting at every turn. The ethos of Steppes travel is what will always set you aside. Thank you and keep up the good work.
