Brunton Boatyard is an elegant hotel in a Victorian style building on an old boatyard a few minutes walk from Fort Cochin. The rooms are furnished in a cool, uncluttered colonial style with teak and rosewood four-poster beds, desks and planter’s chairs, blue and white bed linen, louvred shutters, and antique light fittings. Adjoining bathrooms look directly onto the Arabian Sea, its delta and the hotel pool and terrace. The back of the hotel is built around an open arched courtyard, which was once the original boatyard, now with a lawn and a rain tree at its centre.

The hotel also offers a number of restaurants, one in particular to note is the seafood terrace where you can dine on fresh lobster under the stars while watching the boats pass by.

Activities

Hire a bike and explore the winding streets of old Fort Cochin. Take a cookery class with the hotel’s chef. Board Brunton’s private boat for a sunset cruise around Cochin Harbour.
