A boutique eco-friendly hotel with minimalist design aesthetics, Iguana Crossing offers a unique insight into life on the scarcely populated Isabela Island.

Boasting a beachfront location in the small village of Puerto Villamil, the property is surrounded by endemic vegetation. Featuring just 12 stylish rooms and a suite, most of which benefit from balconies and expansive ocean views, Iguana Crossing has a roof terrace with jacuzzi and is the only property on Isabela to have its own oceanfront pool.

Strategically placed next to a Galapagos marine iguana highway, the property offers rewarding views of their daily pilgrimages between the beach and the wetlands. Just steps from the sandy beach and dunes, guests can absorb panoramic island vistas from an isolated position, with views to the wildlife reserve and Sierra Negra volcano beyond.

Sustainability

Iguana Crossing was created not just as a world-class accommodation, but as a tool to contribute to conservation in the Galapagos Islands. Activities

In addition to the plethora of self-guided discoveries and opportunities to swim in the pristine ocean waters, there are a number of optional island tours that operate from Iguana Crossing.

Visit a Galapagos tortoise refuge and witness incredible endemic forests, or snorkel with white-tipped reef sharks and playful sealion pups off the coast of the small group of islands called Las Tintoreras. Those with an interest in geology can hike inland to visit the Sierra Negra volcano or cycle to the eerie and intriguing ten-metre-high wall of lava rock known as the Wall of Tears.

Iguana Crossing is situated on Isabela Island, known as the Island of the Volcanoes, which is the largest of the archipelago. The nearby island town of Puerto Villamil has a small population of just 2,200 people.
