Kicheche Laikipia is an intimate and classic camp in the heart of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, overlooking an active waterhole and the friendly staff and excellent guides makes this camp a firm favourite.
The camp consists of six custom designed tents, comfortable and simply furnished, with en-suite bathrooms and hot showers. There are comfortable chairs on each veranda overlooking the waterhole and the main mess areas are cosy and welcoming with dining often al-fresco. Activities from camp include day and night game drives and walking. It’s also possible to get involved in Ol Pejeta’s lion-tracking program, visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and see the northern white rhino enclosure.
Why we like it?
Like all Kicheche Camps, the guides and staff lie at the heart of the camp, but the location of this small, luxurious camp, nestled in the shadows of Mt Kenya at the foot of an indigenous forest, gives the camp added drama.
