Chitwa Chitwa is a stylish, well-run camp offering lots of character, exceptional service and great game sightings in the Sabi Sand Private Game reserve, which forms part of the greater Kruger.

Accommodation consists of stylish and spacious suites individually decorated to offer the ultimate privacy ideal for honeymooners and couples. Each has their own private plunge pool and the Charlsy Suite has two bedrooms connected by a lounge area and its own swimming pool. A sunset deck, library, spa, central lounge and dining area in the main lodge blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings.

This is the only lodge in Sabi Sands which overlooks its own lake where you can comfortably watch the resident game coming down to drink. The owners and custodians, Charl and Maria Brink, ensure that your time at their lodge is truly memorable and it remains a firm favourite. Book early as it is well-liked.

Activities

Venture into the wilderness on game drives or bush walks and discover Big 5 and Africa’s other magnificent up close. Relax with a drink under the stars, indulge in meals in the traditional boma, or take a dip in the lodge’s swimming pool or your private plunge pool. Visit the local village on a guided tour and immerse yourself in a day in the life of the community.

Sustainability

The Chitwa Trust was founded in 2008 to tackle two of South Africa’s greatest challenges: unemployment and lack of education. The Trust provides aid to underdeveloped areas of Mpumalanga that involves both conservation and community upliftment. For example, by providing storage units for food donated by Chitwa, upgrading the kitchen to prepare meals for school children and supplying blankets and clothing for school children.
