This part of China is probably best known as home of the giant panda and Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain Resort offers a great base from where to visit the Giant Panda Research Centre in Dujiangyan. The nearby mountains are picturesque and peaceful with many hiking trails, cultural sites and ancient towns as well as spectacular views. Easily visited in a day is the Giant Buddha of Leshan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the tallest sitting Buddha statue in the world.
Within the scenic grounds of the hotel it is possible to take part in a cookery class, do some fruit picking or wine tasting of both local and imported wines. Tai Chi lessons are also available as are night photography tours and even river rafting.
