Uniquely designed and wonderfully remote, Feline Fields is a pioneering new lodge that is almost lost amongst the emptiness of the western Kalahari. Found outside of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the lodge offers a place of relaxation and isolation, with the opportunity to meet some of the Kalahari's remarkable Bushmen.
Six two-storey suites - three with pools and three without - make up accommodation at Feline Fields. They are all beautifully designed with attractive soft woods and understated contemporary furnishings. Each one looks out over the plains of the Kalahari, with the second storey making a wonderful observation - or even sleepout - deck from which to admire the wilderness beyond.
At Feline Fields, the pace is relaxed and disconnected, with the desert providing plenty of distractions. Activities include nature walks and drives, horse riding and mountain biking (each suite has its own fatbikes). Flycamping at nearby Bushmen settlement can also be arranged, as can cultural visits. The lodge is remarkable for its tennis court, which is immersed in the bush.
Why We Like It
Feline Fields offers something completely different in the Kalahari: a place of privacy and tranquillity, where you can relax and explore, whilst also gaining a fascinating insight into the remarkable Bushmen culture.
