Winterlake Lodge

Winterlake Lodge is an exclusive wilderness lodge near the western edge of the Alaska Range. This remote lodge is off the road network so reached by seaplane. On a clear day the mountain peaks, glaciers and lush flora that surround are all visible.

With such spectacular scenery, Winterlake Lodge baits the curious traveller to don the hiking boots and explore. Endless adventures are in easy reach by helicopter, glacier trekking, hiking or salmon fishing. Closer to the lodge, go kayaking or canoeing, have a swim in the lake, take a yoga class or sit by the log fire and just be.

The main lodge sits in the middle of the property surrounded by a cluster of rustic log cabins all overlooking Finger Lake. This is the scene that welcomes the historic Iditarod dog sledding race each year.

Why We like It

The welcoming nature of this family run property is evident before even stepping off the float plane. Every aspect is tailored to incorporate the most of the wild surroundings from the daily activities to the delicious evening meal.
