This boutique hotel sits at the heart of Hermanus, close to the famous Cliff Path, from which whales can frequently be seen. The Gregoire takes its name from local artist Gregoire Boonazier, said to be one of the greatest exponents of Cape Impressionism.
The artistic theme goes well beyond the name, however, with the hotel's comfortable interior decorated in a mixture of eclectic styles - paying homage to Boonazier's colourful character. Plush furnishings and objets d'art fill the rooms, including pieces by Pieff and Charles Eames.
The Gregoire houses just eight suites - split between two spacious villas - with the emphasis on seclusion and exclusivity. Between the villas, expansive lawns carpet the grounds, broken up by a number of beautiful swimming pools. Sun loungers surround the pools, offering the chance to relax and sunbathe amidst the private gardens.
There is also an exceptional spa. Treatments on offer include pedicures, massages, facials and skin treatments.
