The dunes of Sossusvlei offer the perfect starting point. Intriguingly beautiful, this landscape is perfect for exploration by quad bike, on foot and in 4×4 vehicles. Stay at Little Kulala, which offers magnificent views of the surrounding dunes and impressive desert terrain. Take an early-morning balloon ride as the dawn light illuminates this ethereal landscape.
At night, watch as the beauty of the desert changes and the majesty of the African night sky is brought to life. Stargaze or even sleep out under the stars, in one on of the lodge’s specially designed star beds.
Fly north to the remote Palmwag Reserve, home to the majority of Namibia’s desert-adapted rhino population. Hidden amongst the harsh landscape of Kunene – a smorgasbord of browns, reds and greys, this reserve is full of wildlife. Track rhinos across this dry terrain, getting close on foot, led by an experienced tracker.
After a day out amidst the rocks and scrub of the reserve, return to the camp to relax in tented comfort. Blending in with the natural environment, this traditional safari camp offers an unspoilt, wild experience. Sip drinks around the blazing fire pit and dine under the stars.
Fly to the wildlife-rich private concession of Ongava, bordering Namibia’s famous Etosha National Park. Here, head to the reserve’s smallest accommodation offering, Little Ongava. Beautifully situated, this pocket-sized lodge houses just three spacious suites.
Explore the landscape of the private reserve, led by a dedicated guide. Make the most of one of Namibia’s finest wildlife destination, spotting elephants, lions, cheetahs, gemsboks, hartebeests and even rhinos.
Back at the lodge, relax and indulge in some time to unwind, away from the game. Private plunge pools offer the perfect place to pass some time whilst admiring the wonderful surroundings.

It is the peak of summer, with hot and humid conditions broken most afternoons by thundery downpours. Quiet season with lower visitor numbers and a good time to spot flamingos.
The wettest month in many parts, especially in the north of the country. Wildlife is spread out so game viewing is not at its best, with plenty of vegetation. There is, however, the chance of spotting newborns.

The end of the wet season, with vegetation at its most lush, and cooler temperatures. A fantastic time to enjoy Namibia, with lower visitor numbers, flowers bursting through, and mainly dry weather.
The beginning of winter. Almost every day is dry now, and water sources are drying up. Therefore wildlife is starting to congregate around water holes, but the landscapes are still colourful and nights aren’t chilly just yet. A great time to visit.
Namibia’s winter runs from June until September. This is the most popular time to visit, as temperatures during the day are cool and the skies are clear. However, temperatures can drop close to freezing at night, particularly in the south.
