Why we like it

Despite the endless sumptuous beach resorts lying in wait, a jaunt to Saint Lucia does not have to be a one-stop trip. Without omitting the spoiling beach properties, this journey unveils the lesser-known highlights of Saint Lucia. Experience its rich colonial history and lush interior before unwinding with nights spent on one of Saint Lucia’s iconic beaches.

Don't forget, we will customise this journey to suit you.

Trail Walks & Waterfalls

Embark on privately guided tours of the south of Saint Lucia, taking in sights such as Soufriere and hiking the scenic Tet Paul Trail. Set within six acres of lush verdant land in the farming community of Chateau Belair, the trail features a variety of exotic fruit trees and medicinal plants and boasts stunning views of Gros Piton and Petit Piton. For a more leisurely experience, swim in a cool 80-foot cascading waterfall and have a private birding experience that can be tailored for the serious ornithologist or the casual observer.

Mud Pools & Rainforests

Bathe in warm and bubbling pools of black water in the Sulphur Springs Park, created by a volcanic mountain and, for an alternative view of the rainforest, take an aerial tram ride to observe the interior canopy of Saint Lucia. Increase the adrenaline by zip lining through the canopy before heading north on a scenic journey to one of the more isolated resorts.

Snorkel in Pristine Waters

Don flippers and go snorkelling at two renowned marine sites along the island’s west coast – with luck, turtles, schools of sardines, parrot fish and lobsters can be seen. Owing to the islands’ volcanic nature, a spectacular array of colourful coral reefs, fascinating caverns and unexpected trenches are all discoverable in this silent underwater paradise.

Simply Do Nothing..

With the lesser-known adventures behind you, take time to simply relax at a remote retreat that is perched atop imposing cliffs and overlooks azul waters and pristine beach. No trip to the unspoiled parts of Saint Lucia would be complete without a day or two spent on the fine dark sand of jungle-backed Anse Cochon (perhaps snacking on the local favourite oven-baked plantains) or soaking up the views in Soufriere.

Accommodation

Below you can see some of the wonderful places we recommend you stay on your journey.

Fond Doux £££££

  • Saint Lucia
  • Farmstead and Ranches

Set in 135 acres, this French colonial plantation house overlooks cocoa drying racks and colourful tropical gardens that embrace 15 individual one and two-bedroom gingerbread cottages. Accommodation is simple and rustic using natural materials and featuring ceiling fans and private wooden verandas. There are three Honeymoon Suites with private plunge pools and some rooms have an outside rainforest shower. Perhaps the most interesting cottage is the 160-year-old Angelina House. It was scheduled for destruction but was taken apart plank by plank, brought down from Castries and carefully reconstructed at Fond Doux.
