Culham Nuclear Fusion Tour with Nicholas Cristen
A rare chance to see fusion research in action – the hottest lace in the solar system – a tour of the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
Bringing the power source of the stars down to Earth could give us low-carbon electricity for millennia to come. Nuclear fusion is one of the most promising options for generating cleaner energy the world badly needs. CCFE scientists and engineers are developing the technology to bring fusion electricity to the grid.
The Steppes Fund for Change is supporting Nicolas Cristen in his doctorate work as part of the Plasma Group of Oxford University’s Physics Department. Nicolas works at the JET facility, CCFE.
Join Nicolas in a small Steppes group of 11 people on a tour of this extraordinary place, the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy.
