Pacific Northwest

The Pacific Northwest states of Washington and Oregon are scenically stunning areas, laid back in attitude and have far fewer tourists than other areas. The landscapes are varied from snow-capped mountains to raging rivers, ancient forests to remote beaches: there is plenty to see and explore.

This area is geared up for outdoor enthusiasts with endless activities on offer, go hiking, biking, kayaking, climbing or fishing to name a few. As well as the scenery, the area is perfect for foodies. There is a passion for farm-to-table produce, plenty of wineries to visit and dozens of artisan coffee roasters.

Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, Pacific Northwest, USA

The Cascade Mountains

The Cascade Mountain Range creates the spine of this region running from California in the south to Washington in the north. The dramatic and scenically spectacular Columbia River Gorge cuts through the range and marks the state line between Oregon and Washington. The gorge stretches over 80 miles and at over 1,000 metres deep it is the largest National Scenic Area in the USA. The views from Crown Point, a headland 200 meters above the river, are panoramic and unforgettable. A popular destination for both adventurers and families alike, it offers a wealth of outdoor activities from mountain biking to white water rafting.

Pacific Coast Scenic Byway

With more scenic byways than any other state, this is the perfect destination to hit the road. Snaking through the region, these byways link the best of what is on offer. Route 101 is known as the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway and trails the entire coastal stretch from the Colombia River to the California border, winding past pristine beaches, rugged cliffs, rolling sand dunes and temperate rainforests.

Ride in a Seaplane

All at once a spectacular scenic journey and a way to speed up transfer times, seaplanes are the sky taxis of Canada. Ideal for both romantic getaways and families keen to cut down on driving, we can arrange seaplane journeys between most destinations (even cities).
