Depending on your specific trip, packing requirements will vary; make sure to speak to your travel expert about what you will need for any sections that are particularly adventurous or where equipment may be provided.

In general, most safaris start early in the morning and will be on open safari vehicles with little protection from the wind and rain. Layers are an essential for all activities, whether that be a game drive, walking safari, boat safari, etc.

We recommend considering the following:

  • Cool, loose-fitting clothing that covers your legs and arms to prevent mosquito bites and sunburn. Neutral coloured clothing is preferred for a safari.
  • Warmer layers, such as a thick fleece or jacket, where it can get cold at night.
  • A lightweight waterproof coat
  • Beach/swimwear
  • Comfortable shoes for walking
  • Binoculars
  • Insect repellent and suncream
  • A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses to protect against the sun.
  • A torch (ideally a head torch) in case of power cuts at night.
  • Enough cash for the entirety of your trip, as well as an emergency stash.
  • Zoom lens for your camera in order to take the best photos!
  • Spare batteries for cameras or a battery pack for charging.
  • A softer suitcase/rucksack will make it much easier to carry your luggage.

This is a packing guide rather than an extensive list, so please do ask us any questions you may have.
