Built in Bergen in 1964 for the Norwegian Government, Sjoveien (meaning the Seaway) has been refurbished into an exclusive and classic passenger ship and has operated under private ownership since 2017.
Beautifully constructed with wooden decks and classic furnishings, the vessel has ample deck space with an outdoor wood-fired hot tub and an excellent observation area on top of the bridge that offers all-encompassing views of Svalbard. Able to accommodate 12 passengers in eight outside cabins, all with private facilities, the vessel serves up simple and comforting dishes, offers a lounge area where you can listen to talks, and a welcoming international crew.
