Victoria Falls
For the most dramatic scenes at Victoria Falls head there in April and May after the rains. However, if you are hoping to jump in and go white water rafting then August -December is the time to go.

The best time to visit Zimbabwe is between May and October when the game is easier to see. Many of the water holes are dry during this period and the wildlife heads to the lakes. Towards the end of this dry period, temperatures rise well into the 30s ºC.

Carmine bee-eaters in Southern Africa
As early as August, these pink and blue migratory birds begin to arrive in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. But their numbers build over the next couple of months, making October the best time to see them. Taking advantage of the dry weather, they burrow into dry river banks to build their nests, congregating in colourful colonies as they flit back and forth from their nests.
