Ringed by the magnificent snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps, the Hermitage has been welcoming visitors to Mount Cook National Park since 1884.

Interiors are comfortable and modern, and the 164 rooms range from suites to more motel style accommodation. Most rooms, as well as the restaurant, make the most of the fabulous mountain views.

Why we like The Hermitage

Although not an attractive hotel The Hermitage is the best hotel in Mount Cook Village so is by far the best place to stay with magnificent views towards Mount Cook itself.

Facilities

The Hermitage has a choice of dining options from the Alpine restaurant to the A La Carte Panorama Room and the Sir Edmund Hillary cafe and bar where traditional New Zealand cuisine is served. All have fabulous views.
