Set on the coast within 145 acres Thala Beach Nature Reserve is nestled into the rainforest, overlooking two kilometres of beautiful beach.

The four types of guest bungalow offer a choice of rainforest or treetop setting and some have partial or full views of the golden beaches, ocean and islands beyond.

All are timber-built, so blend effortlessly with the surrounding environment and all have a private verandah. Spend days sea kayaking, rainforest hiking or chilling out by one of the two pools or in the spa.

Why we like Thala Beach Nature Reserve

Thala Beach Nature Reserve is a great choice for a beautiful beach location within easy striking distance of the atmosphere of Port Douglas, the ancient rainforests of Daintree and the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. It is well priced and easily reached via a short scenic drive from Cairns.

Activities

Included in a stay at Thala Beach Nature Reserve are nature and wildlife walks as well as talks by local specialists. There are numerous walking trails around the hotel. Sea kayaks are available to borrow and yoga and cooking lessons are also possible. Alternatively, head to the Great Barrier Reef for the day, to dive and snorkel.

It is not possible to swim in the sea between November and March when jellyfish frequent the water.
