Commanding far-reaching views across the vast Parana River and with exclusive access to the largest conservation area in Argentina, Puerto Valle is a fully renovated historical estancia nestled within the richly biodiverse Ibera Wetlands.

Due to its off-the-beaten-track location, the property has a retreat-like feel that is enhanced by the addition of an indulgent water-facing pool and a meditative al fresco lounging deck.

Its 13 spacious and comfortable rooms are spread between the old adobe-walled house and modern private bungalows scattered throughout the grounds. Flanked by a small stable, an inventive herb and vegetable garden and century-old mango and magnolia trees, guests can rest in shaded hammocks and tuck into aromatic and locally-sourced dishes from the fragrant kitchen.

Sustainability

Producing more than four million eucalyptus, yerba mate and spider flower saplings every year, the estate’s tree nursery not only supports the ecological development of the region but also complies with the strictest Forest Stewardship Council standards of social and environmental practices.

Activities

Head out on bird-watching explorations, photographic safaris and riverside trail hikes in the Ibera Wetlands, returning to the property for afternoon hammock siestas and a dip in the pool before devouring delicious lunches.

Navigations along the Parana River by boat and kayak provide opportunities to spot capybaras and rare marsh deer, while horseback rides through the nearby tropical forests bring howler monkeys and caiman ever-closer.
