With only 25 villas and suites, filled with locally crafted furniture and a few moments from Bali’s sacred Tanah Lot temple, Nirjhara encapsulates the essence of this spiritual island.

Why we like Nirjhara

It is all about the design and sustainability at Nirjhara – wooden tree houses sit perched amongst coconut groves, overlooking lush Balinese jungle and vibrant rice fields. With the huge pool, lush gardens and a heavenly spa, not to mention stylish villas and suites with expansive views, one could be tempted to never leave. However, there is a wealth of opportunity for adventure nearby for those wishing to venture out.

Activities

Visit nearby Kedungu Beach for a surf lesson or more experienced surfers head to Canggu’s Echo Beach. Take one of the complimentary mountain bikes and explore the local countryside, the perfect way to immerse yourself in local Bali life or travel by convertible Volkswagen for sunset at Tanah Lot temple. Shop at a local market before returning to Nirjhara for a cooking class or watch a Hollywood classic at the private screening room. Nirjhara has plenty to keep guests busy but the tranquil space to allow for quite relaxation.

Sustainability

Nirjhara are right to be proud of their sustainability credentials. Outreach programmes, local employment and their innovative system to name a few. Ensuring no contaminated waters reach the ocean or nearby rivers, this system goes in hand with their initiative with local households to pilot a community recycling project. With over 50% of the team from neighbouring villages they support the upgrade of roads and schools and work with local farmers to produce a farm to table organic food movement.
