Why we like Maalu Maalu

More fun than chic, Maalu Maalu is a very laid back beach resort directly on Passekudah Beach.

Facilities

Rooms are bright and colourful with the resort’s signature fish print livening up cushions and blinds. All rooms are laid out in the same sort of way, with a king-sized bed and a roomy ensuite with both bathtub and shower. Only some rooms boast a true sea view. Ocean and Panoramic suites, which share small plunge pools, offer the best sea views.

The service here is cheerful and personable. The swimming pool has a great ocean view, and on two sides there are separate paddling areas for children. There is a rustic Ayurvedic spa right on the beach. The low-rise chalet-style buildings are clad in timber and topped by palm-thatched roofs, giving the hotel a rustic, beachy vibe.
