Tried, tested and loved, Kicheche Mara Camp is a classic bush camp in the Acacia Valley of the Mara North Conservancy, one of the best wildlife viewing spots in the Mara.

Eight canvas rooms overlook the Olare Orok stream with the western escarpment in the distance. Western-style en-suite bathrooms, hot showers and soft beds keep you comfortable, whilst the team at Kicheche Mara Camp create a wonderful sense of fun. Lively dinners around the campfire or under the shade of the acacia trees keep the excitement going long after the game drives are over.

Why We Like Kicheche Mara Camp

The Mara North Conservancy is one of the best-managed conservancies in the area. Fewer tourists and an abundance of game around Kicheche Mara Camp keeps clients coming back year after year. It is the first choice for many of our clients who are keen on wildlife photography, as the incredible guides here are also keen photographers themselves. Combined with their superb knowledge of the area, they have a knack for getting you in the right place at the right time with intuitive guiding.

Being able to drive off road and depart when we like certainly makes the photographer’s life easier but even 10,000+ game drives in I know each day is different and if I am not ready and alert, my spotting skills on ‘weapons-grade’ I will miss that critical moment for my guests. Activities

Watch wildlife at close range in a customised safari vehicle with fantastic wildlife photography opportunities, experience the plains in a different way by joining a highly trained guide on a bush and spend a night under canvas in the wilderness fly camping. Visit conservation, environmental education and community based micro enterprises to glimpse into the lives of the local community.

Sustainability

Kicheche Mara Camp has electric 4×4 vehicles as part of its fleet which are charged from solar rays, substantially reducing their carbon footprint. They also have the added benefit of being far quieter than a traditional vehicle, reducing the chance of scaring wildlife.
