Etendeka Mountain Camp is a permanent camp, situated in the foothills of the Grootberg, below the north-western escarpment of Namibia. This region is home to black rhino, desert elephant as well as Hartmann’s mountain zebra, oryx, giraffe and several bird species endemic to Namibia.
Accommodation is in 10 walk-in shaded tents with twin beds, en-suite facilities which consist of a bucket shower, flush w.c. and wash basin with hot and cold running water. Each tent has its own veranda. There is a large open-sided dining tent with a bar. Activities include nature walks and scenic drives.
Due to the rugged terrain, guests are always collected from a transfer point and transferred to the camp in 4×4 vehicles, a journey of approximately one-and-a-half hours. In summer, transfers are at 16:00 and in winter they are at 15:30. There is also an airstrip, which is only 20 minutes drive from the camp.
This no-frills camp is one of our client’s favourites. Bonnie and Dennis have been looking after guests for 20 years and you will really feel the advantage of this. Walking and exploring is encouraged by this community run eco camp.

This semi-mobile camp is set up in the remote Huab Conservancy in northern Damaraland. Found on the banks of the Huab River, its green canvas tents sit amongst the shade of mopane thickets. The area is remarkable for its population of desert-adapted black rhinos, which survive in spite of the harsh conditions.
Camp Kipwe lies in the heart of Damaraland, ideally located a short drive from the local attractions in the area. The camp is nestled amongst an outcrop of giant granite boulders, a stone’s throw away from the dry Aba Huab riverbed where desert-adapted elephants often traverse.
Mowani Mountain Camp commands superb views over the ancient and rugged landscape of the Aba-Huab valley. The camp has been carefully designed to create the impression of an African village and the lodge itself is considered to be one of the finest in the Damaraland region of Namibia, which offers astounding desert scenery, fascinating geological formations and archaeological sites and an incomparable variety of desert flora and fauna.
