Base Camp Greenland

Base Camp Greenland has introduced a touch of luxury in the Arctic giving a whole new dimension to exploring Greenland’s wilderness.

More expedition lodge than camp Base Camp Greenland accommodations comprises of individual safari-style tent cabins, sleeping two guests in each.

The cabins are warmed by an individual heater and have twin beds complete with cosy duvets and comfortable pillows, writing desks with chairs, and an ensuite loo and sink. Showers are taken in separate bathhouses segregated by gender.

Each cabin also has a large private veranda where guests can relax and enjoy the panoramic vistas while sipping a drink chilled with chips of 10,000-year-old ice straight from the Greenland Ice Cap. There is a lodge common room which also houses the kitchen and dining area and serves as a lecture space for presentations.

The Base camp is eco-friendly in both construction and operation. The lodge facilities are set up for two months in the summer only and taken down each year, to reduce impact leaving nothing behind. Furthermore, waste is disposed of in a biodegradable manner and only biodegradable soap is used in the kitchen and showers. Electricity is powered in the cabins by small individual solar panels.
