The Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet is a luxury hotel in the old quarter of Istanbul, a short walk from the Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. Once a Turkish prison, this striking mustard coloured building is now a three-story neoclassical hotel with 65 rooms and suites set around a landscaped courtyard garden.
Comfortable and well equipped, the rooms all overlook either the central courtyard or outwards to the Blue Mosque.
Why we like the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet
This Istanbul hotel is in a fantastic location. It has a small and intimate atmosphere with wonderful service and as well as being a luxury hotel they have also managed to retain some of the quirky history surrounding the building.
Rooms and suites vary in size, some offering views of greenery, the courtyard, Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque. All accommodation is family friendly and accommodates children 18 years and under free of charge. There is a rooftop bar, A’ya Terrace which offers superb sunset views. Catch the bar on the right day and enjoy happy hour cocktails or cheese and wine tasting events.
The hotel is home to just one excellent restaurant in which the adjacent herb gardens supply extremely fresh ingredients. The dining options in the vicinity are plentiful.
There is a health Club offering Balinese massage treatments, welcome after a day of sightseeing. Free transport is available throughout the day between the sister hotel, Four Seasons Bosphorus. Here you can enjoy further leisure facilities including a hammam and pool. If in town at the weekend, a great Sunday brunch is served from midday.
Aside from city sightseeing, guests receive access to the Kenner Golf and Country Club and Swissotel pro-tennis courts, organised through the concierge.
Just a few minutes’ walk away from Istanbul’s most famous sights including the Grand Bazaar.
