Located on the Cesme Peninsula, just off the pretty main square in the Turkish village of Alacati, Hotel Alavya is a boutique hotel with 25 rooms spread throughout six charming village houses.
Each of the elegant rooms overlooks one of the courtyards or the central gardens of bougainvillea and fruit trees. Every room is different, combining modern touches with traditional materials and some have private patios while others offer a sunny balcony or a luxurious hot tub.
Regional food is served at the relaxed Mitu restaurant and additional facilities include yoga, Pilates, a gymnasium and a small spa. There is also a large outdoor freshwater pool and Jacuzzi.
A short five minute drive or a 40 minute stroll takes you to the nearest beach where the hotel moors its private yacht, available to hire for the day or even an overnight stay.
Why we like it
The cobbled streets of laid back Alacati are still somewhat of a hidden gem. Located a few miles inland from the Aegean coast with easy access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ephesus, this pretty village is a wonderful spot for a relaxing holiday with a spot of culture. The incredibly helpful staff, thoughtful touches and tranquil atmosphere at the Alavya hotel are all the more reason to stay here.
