Oliver's Camp and Little Oliver's Camp are both situated in the exclusive southern part of Tarangire National Park. Placed only a few minutes' drive from one another, they blend perfectly into the natural flora of Tarangire.
Providing an immersive bush experience and often visited by passing wildlife, the tents of Oliver's and Little Oliver's are well spaced - ensuring intimacy, exclusivity and tranquillity.
Twice the size of its smaller offshoot, Oliver's Camp still contains just 10 spacious tents, protected by rustic thatched roofs. These airy, self-contained constructions look out over the Monyonyo Floodplains - perfectly positioned to observe the spectacular setting of the fast-moving Tanzanian sun. Comfortable and beautifully appointed, each tent features impressive bathroom facilities - with both hot outdoor and indoor showers available.
WHY WE LIKE THEM
Communal dinners are served in the dining tent or under the Tarangire sky, hosted by the camps’ friendly managers. At Oliver’s, evening meals are preceded by the chance to sip a Gin and Tonic on the lower deck whilst watching the sunset. As darkness grows, the conversation moves back towards the warmth of the campfire and the comfort of the dining area.
Curious four-legged visitors are a common occurrence at both of these unfenced, unobtrusive camps. Elephants and antelopes are both regulars, whilst lions, leopards and hyenas have all been spotted. To capture these night-time explorers, Oliver’s has a well-positioned camera trap, with images available to browse on the camp manager’s laptop.
Activities available at both camps include daytime and night-time game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, walking safaris led by one of the expert walking guides, fly camping, bush picnics and star gazing.
