Montpelier Plantation

The wedding venue of Lord Horatio Nelson to Fanny Nisbet in 1787, this former sugar plantation is rather like being a guest in an English country house with its old-world charm. This Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel is stylish, spacious and elegantly furnished.

The 19 contemporary rooms have stunning views to the hills or the ocean from a private veranda.

Within its 60 acres are beautiful gardens, a swimming pool, tennis court, spa and Restaurant 750 where you may dine on the terrace under the stars. The 300-year-old sugar mill has been converted to a unique restaurant, Mill Privee, and is the only one of its kind in the world. It serves delicious, fresh food to delight the taste buds and has a selection of fine wines to compliment your meal.

A complimentary shuttle offers access to the hotel's private beach just six miles away which offers hammocks, beach cabanas and a bar and the odd beach BBQ.

Why We Like It

The house is just beautiful and in a delightful setting. Gather in the lounge for evening aperitifs to meet with fellow guests. Be sure to join a rum tasting evening too– there is an extensive collection of rums here.
