50 Years of Victory

Most Arctic and Antarctic ships have ice strengthened hulls which protect them from loose pack ice. 50 Years of Victory is a Russian nuclear powered ice breaker capable of penetrating ice up to 2.5

m thick. Literally the most sophisticated and powerful ice breaker ever built, she has a top speed of over 20 knots. The 64 cabins vary in size but all are outward facing and all with private bathrooms. Aside from a fleet of zodiacs, 50 Years of Victory also has a helicopter to fly passengers to areas which the ship cannot reach, the ultimate destination being the North Pole.
