Mojito

Enjoyed the world over, but only truly appreciated under Havana heat. A perfect antidote to an exhausting day of Cuban adventure.

It is usually food that creates such evocative memories of a place for me. But when it comes to the mojito, looking out over a beach as a simmering sunset drenches away into the cool blue is something that I will never forget. It is an added bonus that it is such a simple cocktail to create too.

Method

  1. Get a small jug and add the lime juice, mint leaves and sugar.
  2. Time to give it some elbow. Mash the combination together using a spoon or rolling pin.
  3. Pour mixture into a tall glass with plenty of ice.
  4. Add in a generous glug of white rum, gently stir and enjoy.

Recipe Ingredients

White rum: 60ml
Lime, juiced: 1
Granulated sugar: 1 tbsp
Handful of mint leaves: 1
