PNG and the South Pacific Islands

The Ultimate Adventure - Distant Tribes, Whales and Sharks

26 days

from £8,795pp (excluding flights)

A 26 day ultimate get away including adventurous travel balanced with chill out time on pristine Pacific islands. This Papua New Guinea honeymoon takes in five countries in less than four weeks and will give any newly weds bragging rights over dinner for years to come.

  • Spend time in Australia, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Tonga
  • Visit the Asaro Valley to see the legendary mud men
  • Explore Goroka, with it's famous Goroka Show in September
  • Dive off the coast of New Britain Island
  • Take an exciting heli transfer out to Davui Island
  • Swim with the gentle giants of Tonga and sharks of Fiji

This Papua New Guinea honeymoon starts in Singapore with an overnight stop in this vibrant Asian city. Now reinvented from its once sterile cliché to a hip hotlist location, mad about its food. Flying eastbound overnight arrive in the capital city of Papua New Guinea – Port Moresby. Taking the local ferry to Loloata – an island bolthole only half an hour from Port Moresby and a welcome breather from the busy wedding planning that has gone before. Whilst on Loloata view the sunrise from the hilltop, walk or kayak the island which can be circumnavigated in under an hour.

A visit to Papua New Guinea on honeymoon is not complete without exploring the Highlands. Arguably the true heart of PNG, offering a huge variety of tribes and home to the Goroka Show, which sees the largest annual gathering of tribes every September. Return home with very striking and somewhat ferocious photography! The Asaro Mud men can be found close to Goroka. These warriors cover themselves in grey mud and wear huge mud masks. Return home with very striking and somewhat ferocious photography!

Make friends with turtle’s pygmy seahorses and cuttlefish on undersea adventures off New Britain Island. A perfect spot to hone your diving skills with excellent tuition and Kimbe Bay should be on the bucket list for any diver.

Leaving behind this raw captivating frontier country, head across the Pacific for the intimate island paradises of Fiji and Tonga. Opt to while away days at leisure at Royal Davui Island Resort- an adults only sanctuary of laid back tropics. Alternatively, for any shark lover, Fiji is a dream come true. Believe it or not, sharks are a big part of the appeal, with the Big Fish Encounter shark dive a major highlight.

Helicopter across from Tonga to the untouched islands of Vava’u Tonga where the largest population of humpback whales reside during July and October. Accompanied by the whale whispering crew, share a memorable encounter with these gentle giants.

Ease back into reality on the final leg of the honeymoon with a stopover in Brisbane, Australia. Southbank and Eagle Street Pier boasts amazing eateries attracting a strong following of foodies. Try a seven course degustation menu paired with wines.Head out of the city to the Koala Sanctuary where you tick off a long list of endemic animals in one afternoon before heading homebound to London overnight.
