Dr Sally Uren

With three decades of experience in the environmental sector, Sally has explored many of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and became a trustee of the Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) in 2022. Recognised for her contributions to sustainability, she was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in 2017. Having completed a PhD in Environmental Science and a post-doctoral research fellowship on the regeneration of over-logged rainforests in Borneo, Sally brings both expertise and a deep understanding of the challenges facing the Galapagos.

Her commitment to systemic change for a just and regenerative future aligns closely with the needs of the archipelago.
