Tajikistan Dr Jordan Quill is a British art historian of South, Central and Inner Asia. His research focusses on textiles, with a particular interest in Tibet, India, and the Himalayas. After receiving his BA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, specialising in Central Asian architecture and textiles, he completed an MPhil in Tibetan and Himalayan Studies at the University of Oxford. He completed his PhD on Indian palace textiles at The Courtauld in 2026, and has travelled extensively in India, Nepal, and Central Asia.
Jordan has worked at the British Museum, V&A, and the Tibet Museum in Dharamshala and teaches for Short Courses at The Courtauld. At The British Museum, in his role as a project curator of the Tibetan collections, he uncovered the provenance of objects acquired from Tibet during the ‘Great Game.’ Jordan also has more than seven years’ experience working with antique Asian textiles in London’s leading specialist galleries, with special expertise in the textiles of India, Tibet, the Himalayas, and Uzbekistan. As well as Art History, culture and religions, Jordan has studied numerous Asian languages.
Jordan has published numerous academic articles, a children’s book, and is now working on his first major book on Indian textiles and Tibetan art.
