I have always experienced wanderlust and my itchy feet have taken me to many varied destinations across this amazing planet. My passion is travel and I am eager to explore, to learn about new places and cultures and to immerse myself in heritage and history.

My travels have taken me from the dunes of the Sahara desert to the open road of Route 66; from the glaciers and geysers of Iceland, to the waves and wilderness of Australia. Whether city or countryside, I am always looking for new places to explore and new experiences to carry out. Travel is a journey that teaches us so much about ourselves, as well as the world around us.

Hanoi by Vintage Russian Minsk Motorbike

It is with a sense of trepidation that I scramble on to the back of a vintage Russian Minsk motorbike. I hold on tight to my poor guide and brace myself as we emerge into the traffic that races along at pace. Suddenly, I realise that I am grinning from ear to ear; this isn’t scary, this is fun, this is exhilarating! I start to take in my surroundings. We zip up narrow side alleys lined with children playing and washing hanging between buildings. We see local industry at work, drink local coffee, try mouth-watering street food, visit markets selling every part you would ever possibly need to fix a moped. I do not see another tourist. This is a different side to Hanoi.

Magic in the rainforests of Borneo

When all the stars aligned, and I was lucky enough to witness an orangutan and her young making their nest high in the canopy of the Danum Valley Rainforest. After trekking through the dripping, creaking rainforest, our guide in hushed tones pointed to the trees and I held my breath for the entirety of our encounter, not wanting to break the spell cast over this ancient place. It was here that I realised magic is real.

Hiking in the Philippines

That stomach lurching moment after a leg burning hike, when I looked down across a breath-taking amphitheatre of rice paddies in Banaue. I was struck by the lush greens that coloured this ancient landscape as far as the eye could see; and I stood fascinated by the workers who, far below, toiled completely untroubled by the vertigo inducing steepness of the angle as their ancestors have done for generations. This was a unique and stunning scene that for me evokes the true nature of Philippines northern terrains.

Hand-gliding over Byron Bay

Hand-gliding over Byron Bay’s endless white sandy beaches and crashing surf and seeing manta ray silhouetted below as I soared above.

Life on the Mekong

Witnessing bustling commerce and local life from a sampan boat as I cruised the vast maze of rivers that make up the Mekong Delta.

Watching the sunrise atop Mount Kinabalu

The sun setting the sky afire as the new day dawned whilst I stood on top of the world having climbed for a gruelling seven hours to summit Mount Kinabalu, at 4,095 metres above sea level.
