My constant curiosity of the world and how it works has brought me to work and travel abroad from my late teens to today.
This curiosity began with the mountains, where I would spend weeks at a time living out of a tent and 36 litre rucksack in the Alps during the summers and working in lodges during the winters. My work in hospitality took me to new remote locations, from the volcanic island of Hokkaido in Northern Japan, to the Drakensburg mountains of South Africa, to the southern coast of Nicaragua.
I have lived abroad, working in hotel/restaurant management, translation work, teaching and tour guiding, in a total of 7 different countries over the past decade, and have travelled to nearly 50. Working with people of different cultures and backgrounds is what I enjoy the most, and wherever I go, I tend to end up staying longer than planned after having fallen in love with the community of people there.
The magic of travel for me is not only the people, but the landscapes as well. My love of the mountains has never left me and my wandering has found myself climbing peaks in the Peruvian Andes of over 5000m, to solo hiking down in beautiful Patagonia. There is so much to see and I am delighted to now work in travel helping other people to explore our vast and captivating world.
