Fundacion Oso Pardo

My Expertise

  • Spain Flag Spain

Committed to protecting the Cantabrian brown bears, Fundacion Oso Pardo operates bear patrols in the Cantabrian mountain range, monitoring threats and taking action to enhance the bear’s natural habitat.

Native fruit trees are planted in key habitats to ensure the bears have ample, natural food and data is collected, such as paw prints, excrement and hair to help identify the genetic make-up of the local bear population. Camera traps are set to help with monitoring the movements of bears with particular focus given to mothers with cubs.

Talk to us about visiting Cantabria and joining a bear patrol to gain unrivalled insight into the world of these fascinating mammals.
