Rondon Ridge

Rondon Ridge is located at an altitude of 2,100 metres, overlooking vast areas of the Western Highlands. Set amidst native gardens and tropical montane rainforest the lodge offers 24 comfortable rooms with warmed king beds for the cooler highland temperatures, and panoramic views of the surrounding scenery.

Why we like Rondon Ridge

With its' great position, perched high above the vast Waghi Valley, there is a good chance of spotting birds of paradise in the forest.

A restaurant and bar serve cuisine cooked using fresh local produce and the communal lounge has a cosy fireplace and floor to ceiling views from which to enjoy the views.

A stay here is very much about nature. Over 180 species of bird have been recorded in the area including bird of paradise. Orchids can also be found along the numerous walking trails abd guides from the lodge will accompany walks to explain about the unique ecology of the region.

Nearby Mount Hagen is a cultural hub and comes alive in August when the Mount Hagen festival takes place.

Electricity at Rondon Ridge is provided by its own hydroelectric power plant which generates clean, natural energy from a nearby mountain stream.

Located a 40-minute drive from Mount Hagen town and approximately one hour from the airport.
